Technology Training for Trusted Sources in Diverse Communities Project

Overview

The purpose of this project is to assist families with children with developmental disabilities from linguistically, ethnically, and culturally diverse communities to access accurate health care information through people they trust. To accomplish this purpose, we identified nine trusted sources from three community-based organizations in Seattle and King County area in Washington State. These trusted sources have been providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services to families since the 1990's. Medical librarians, through the project, provide technology online training to the trusted sources. With the knowledge and health care information they obtain, the trusted sources can better serve families.
