A2O: Access to Opportunity
|

Over 400 limited-English speaking children and adults from underserved communities in
Western Washington have participated in Language Works! English language and
educational skills training programs since 2000. Access to Opportunity was designed to
empower and enable recent immigrants and limited English proficient residents to succeed beyond
the survival level in education and the remedial jobs currently available to them. A2O
strives to break down the barriers posed by limited English proficiency and the inability to
understand the American culture that limit most immigrants' access to the greater economic
dream: to become home owners, business people, professionals, and leaders for their respective
communities.
